Why prosthetics
Restored movement takes the strain off the joints that were compensating
Prosthetics restore mobility, reduce pain and improve overall quality of life after an amputation or a congenital limb defect. By replicating normal movement, there is less wear and tear on the joints that have to compensate for the missing limb. That wear and tear prematurely ages a pet and can increase pain.

From first exam to first steps

A veterinarian examines your dog
The vet assesses whether a prosthesis is appropriate and what kind will work.
The limb is scanned
Lidar and photogrammetry accurately measure the limb for the new prosthesis in a matter of minutes.
An engineer builds the prosthesis
The scan file goes to a robotics engineer who creates the prosthesis and returns it to the vet.
The prosthesis is fitted
With the veterinarian's help, the prosthesis is fitted to your dog.
Your dog learns to use it
Rehabilitation teaches your dog to walk and balance on the new device. Once acclimated, your dog enjoys restored mobility, increased longevity and wellbeing.

Learning to trust a new limb takes practice. We collaborate with North GA Veterinary Specialists, whose rehabilitation facility has two therapists to work with your pet, underwater treadmills, an open training floor, and CT and MRI imaging on site.

Every patient is unique, so the total depends on the degree of customization, the materials and the complexity of the amputation. These ranges give you a starting point.
